What to expect from Hot Glass Academy
About our Demonstrations
During our time at your Residency, Business, or Fairground, we will demonstrate, educate, and amaze you with the phenomenon of glassblowing.
We will make a variety of items during our demonstrations, like flowers, cups, bowls, vases, platters, and glass sculpture! Also, if there is a special request from the audience, we will try our best to create it. We love when audiences participate, either choosing the colors, selecting a glass object, or even cheering along as we create!
Each demonstration is 30 minutes to an hour long. We educate the viewer on the history of glassblowing as well as inform the viewer of the temperature we are working at and answer any questions they might have during the creation of a glass piece. We involve the crowd by safely allowing them to feel the radiating heat off of the glass piece during a portion of our show, if the viewer feels comfortable. We offer this to allow the viewer to engage with the glass past seeing, but rather feeling the heat from a distance.
